India has the best graphic animators and are even employed by Holywood makers yet we ourselves don’t come up with any wonders in our Hindi films. Krrish is a path breaking film which shows that Indian films can also match up to Hollywood special effects  and that too at a much lower cost.

Rajesh Roshan has intelligently cashed on everything right from locations to brand endorsement in his films. At times it feels as if he is just too greedy and more interested in making money. The film begins with some irritating endorsements which literally gets the film overall look down. Rajesh Roshan must know that brand endorsements are good if it is done subtly but the way he has shown these products is outright cheap.

The film entertains and excels especially in the 1st half and has a disappointing 2nd half. The second half is more like cut paste from Superman, Spiderman and Ramayana.

The originality is suddenly gone missing in the second half. The action sequences fail to convince you and maybe the kids who are glued to the latest cartoon shows may too find it hard to digest.

The Story:

Hrithik Roshan plays as KRRISH, son of Rohit (Played by Hrithik Roshan in the first version - Koi Mil Gaya). Krishna (Hrithik Roshan) is born with magical powers - a legacy from his father, Rohit Mehra.

With high IQ levels, Krishna can answer any difficult questions which a first grader cannot not even think or dream of. His grandmother, played by Rekha gets insecure of his gifted talent and feels she may lose her grand son like she lost her own son who went abroad to make a future computer and never returned.

Rekha shifts from a posh apartment in the city to a small house in a village. She makes Krishna live like a village boy who plays with animals, birds and trees. The entire look and feel of Hrithik is made to look him like a Tarzan. So here we go Rakesh Roshan even packages a Tarzan epic in this film. Krishna saves Priyanka who has an accident while landing from a parachute.

Priya (Priyanka Chopra) comes into his life and becomes his world. When she beckons him to Singapore, he follows. Priyanka who works for Star TV tries to use Hrithik to save her job. She wants to shoot him as part of documentary to show his super powers.

In Singapore, Dr.Siddhant Arya (Naseeruddin Shah), the megalomaniac scientist is on the verge of changing the future forever. Only one man stands between Dr.Siddharth Arya and his destructive dreams. To block his ruthless ambitions...Krishna must become KRRISH.

Interesting facts:

Talk about  special effects! The name plate of Naseerudin Shah’s car reads EFX, which also happens to be the studio behind the special effects of this film.

Entire Roshan family was involved in shopping for Krrish’s wardrobe. Hrithik’s sister Sunaina and wife Suzanne are both credited in the costumes list of this film.

Rakesh Roshan had finalized his heroine Priyanka Chopra for his blockbuster Film Kraft's KRRISH, when he saw her at Yash Johar's funeral.

Believe it or not, Hrithik Roshan has performed all the breath-taking stunts in Krrish himself, without use of duplicates. The dare-devilry includes scenes of bungee-jumping, plunging into infernos, leaping across slippery rocks on wild-flowing rivulets, scaling walls, trapezing, etc.

Hrithik has a double role in this film. He also plays the father role pf Rohit. Terrible make up for Rohit, must say.

Shah Rukh’s kid  has gone crazy over this film and even Shah Rukh loved it!

Verdict

The film though is not strictly a kids' film, but the main viewer will end up being kids. The music is such a let off, which takes the movie’s rating further down. Irritating songs makes the storyline weak and irritates you to the core.

Also disappointing is the background score! Though Salim-Sulaiman are the most trusted names, this is by far their worst score.

What rocks? Hrithik, Hrithik, Hrithik…

No one can match his looks, not even the biggest Hollywood stars. You are bound to fall in love with Krishna played by Hrithik. He is cute, loving and man so handsome. There is a complete transformation of look when Hrithik is shown staying in a small village of Simla and then when he goes to Singapore-his look too changes. But his former look is far more appealing.

The pace of the story is fast pace throughout the film and except the songs, you don’t feel like missing a bit of this film.

Flashes of Koi Mil Gaya shown in the film at right intervals link the 1st film very well with this sequel.

The romance between Krishna and Priya is half baked and superficial.

It is very unconvincing how Hrithik decides to go to Singapore on just a phone call from Priyanka.

Why could he not take his granny Rekha who looks so concerned about him?

How did Hrithik’s passport arrive so soon?

The action sequences are so similar and there is absolutely no variety. Same jumping around!

The mask sequence is also very unconvincing. How does anyone land up saying he is Krrish just because he has the torn mask?

Archana Puran Singh is overacting and has just lent a negative branding to Star TV.

Though the movie tries to promote Singapore you are quite impressed by our own Manali. You actually getsick of seeing those skyscrapers of Singapore over and over.

Priyanka looks good, but the chemistry between Hrithik is not so strong as it was with Preity.

Naseerudin Shah and Rekha are OK.

Overall the movie is well made and entertaining. Paisa vasool!
