100 cr deal for Bhatt’s Vishesh Films

Sony BMG India has signed a Rs 100-crore deal with Mahesh & Mukesh Bhatt’s Vishesh Films to produce four Hindi films. The first production of the JV, Raaz 2, will to be released in November while the other three films will hit the silver screens by end of next year.

In its first deal with a production house, Sony BMG will fund the production of the films and will handle the revenue streams. Vishesh Films will bring in its expertise in film-making and identify new talent. Both the parties will share profit equally.

Sony BMG president, Asian region, Kelvin Wadsworth told ET: “The only way we can be relevant in the music market in India is by riding the Bollywood bandwagon. With India and China being the key growth markets for Sony BMG, it is important for us to re-invent ourselves.”
