Bhutto film setback for Mahesh Bhatt
Husband of the recently murdered former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, Asif Ali Zardari, has told Bollywood film maker Mahesh Bhatt that he will not give permission for a film based on the life of his wife.

The film was expected to be co-produced by Mahesh Bhatt and Karachi-based Skies Unlimited Films, with Shabana Azmi portraying the role of Benazir. However, Zardari has said that Benazir had already signed over the rights to her life-story on the big screen to Hollywood big-wig Robert Redford. Zardari has also been advised not to get a film made by Bollywood artists because of the negative implications it could have in Pakistan.

There still has been no confirmation from Robert Redford as to when he would star production on the film.
