Amitabh and Waheeda reunite as grandparents

Amitabh Bachchan and Waheeda Rehman are to star opposite each other after a gap of 25 years.

The duo are to guest star in Dilli 6, which stars Amitabh’s son Abhishek Bachchan, and will play old-age pensioners. Amitabh and Waheeda last starred together in Coolie, in 1983, where the latter played the mother. But they are more famous for their roles in super-hit films Adalat and Kabhie Kabhie. In Dilli 6 both will play grandparents of Abhishek Bachchan’s character.

A source says, “Yes Amitji and Waheedaji shot together in Rajasthan recently. It was like one big reunion. Both of them have worked together in a number of super hit films. In fact, Waheedaji even played Amitji’s mother in Coolie and Trishul. They often talked about the old days. Abhishek and Sonam Kapoor too joined the senior actors for dinner while they were shooting in Rajasthan. The entire unit had a great time during the film’s shoot.”

This will be the first time that Amitabh will be playing Abhishek’s grandfather and not father.
