Arshad’s loss is Aftab’s gain
The role of Arshad Warsi in Indra Kumar’s sequel to Dhamaal, Double Dhamaal, has been given to former child actor Aftab Shivdasani.
It has been earlier rumored that both Arshad Warsi and Riteish Deshmukh were both not expected to feature in the second coming. But now it seems that Riteish will indeed work in the comedy whereas Arshad will not. Indra Kumar wanted all the actors, including Javed Jafferi and Aashish Chowdhry, to begin shooting in January and February of 2009. This was because Sanjay Dutt had only those dates free in his calendar, and Indra did not want to make the film without him. Everyone else’s dates were then adjusted to fit in the shoot, but Arshad declined to change his plans. He had already committed that period of time to his fellow friend Rejeev Chudasama for the film The Hit.
Aftab had initially been offered the role of Manay Shrivastav in the original, but he couldn’t provide the dates, hence the role was offered to Javed Jafferi.
