Preview: One Fine Monday (2008)

One fine Monday in a full length comedy feature that revolves around Shyamrao Sawant (Shekhar Suman), one of the most feared and powerful dons in the city.

After committing to his father on the deathbed that he will give up his present trade and reform, we pick him up on the one Monday morning that will ensure that he goes legit all the way.

As the fateful Monday progresses, Sawant if forced to come to terms with a pregnant sister (Gauri Karnik) who is not really pregnant, a thieving accountant (Raj Zutshi), an extremely temperamental wife (Tanaz Currim), the personification of the strong arm of the law that is out to get him (Rajesh Vivek), a perplexed and eccentric scholar (Himanshu) and a sister he never knew he had (Tripta Parashar).

On the one Monday that was supposed to set everything right, Sawant is found running from pillar to post trying to lead the life of an upstanding citizen but what is to become of him at the end of it all is a story unto itself…

Shekhar Suman, the famous Indian actor and television personality started his career as a television actor in a serial ‘Wah Janab’. He worked in some memorable movies like Shashi Kapoor’s Utsav where his leading lady was Rekha. Shekhar has acted in almost 30 films. Apart from this, he is one of the judges of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge along with Navjot Singh Sidhu, a former cricketer. This programme, a stand-up comedy contest, is the first of its kind on Indian television, which is receiving accolades from everywhere. Shekhar plays a don in the movie ‘One Fine Monday’.

Raj Zutshi, the teenager cousin of Aamir Khan in ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Se’ is also happens to be his real brother-in-law. He’s acted in more than forty films and many televison shows. He plays Sawant’s side-kick in the movie.

Gauri Karnik, the bubbly singer from the intense musical ‘Sur’ plays Sawant’s sister in the movie.

Tanaaz Currim, is known for comical roles but she has also done shows like Swabhiman, Yeh Meri Life Hai etc. Her memorable role is of Jayashree Bua of YMLH, Meri Biwi Wonderful. Some of her movies are 36 China Town, Main Rony Aur Jony, Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon, Deewangee, Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai, Hadh Kar Di Aapne, Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai etc.
