Shah Rukh to play himself for Priyadarshan

It’s becoming quite a good year for Shah Rukh Khan cameos, as 2008 will now witness 4 guest appearances by the King.

We have already heard that Shah Rukh Khan will play the father of a boy who talks to spirits in the supernatural thriller Bhootnath, and we are well aware of his romantic scenes with Sushmita Sen in Dulha Mil Gaya. He has already shot for an item number for Rakesh Roshan’s Krazzy 4, where he will be seen in the same song with Hrithik Roshan, but now news emerges that Shah Rukh will be playing himself in a Priyadarshan directed comedy.

Produced under his own banner, Red Chillies Entertainment, this as of yet untitled love story will be the first collaboration between Shah Rukh and Priyadarshan. Both have promised that this film is to be of a different genre than either of them has been seen to work with before. Shah Rukh will be playing himself in the movie and appear on-screen after the interval for a couple of scenes.

The film will be completed by August 2008 for a year-end release. More details on the main leads will be released soon.
