Flashback 2007: Domestic Box Office Report

August

Box office couldn’t stop smiling at her luck with back to back smashing hits releasing this month. The new age anthem and the film which won million hearts, Shimit AMin’s Chak De! India took the domestic box office by storm and emerged out as the biggest films of the year. In tow, Sajid Khan’s directorial debut Heyy Babyy was hugely successful at all the centers with good collections all over. Gandhi My Father was below average but earned critical acclaim and great reviews. Cash was a major disappointment though it managed to earn near Rs. 20 crores at the B.O.

The films which sank without a trace this month were: Buddha Mar Gaya, Dhokha, Apna Asmaan, Victoria No. 203, The Blue Umbrella, Kaafila and the major disaster Ram Gopal Verma Ki Aag.

The film of the month jointly goes to Chak De! India and Heyy Babyy, for their long, thunderous run at the box office.
