Flashback 2007: Domestic Box Office Report

January

The year began on a dull note with films like Kudiyon Ka Hai Zamana, Risk and The Train missing out in the big race though the box office was saved by Mani Ratnam’s Guru. Guru, by far, continued to be the biggest grosser in the start of 2007. The same month saw a debacle in the form of Nikhil Advani’s Salaam-e-Ishq, which despite the mega budget and fanfare; fell flat at the box office.

People flocked in the theatres for Guru and gave Salaam-e-Ishq a good decent opening which soon crumbled down with the turn of the new month.

The film of the month goes to Guru which got a good opening and continued a long run at the box office earning Rs. 41. 65 crores and was declared a hit.
