Flashback 2007: Domestic Box Office Report

The same month saw a major, big banner debacle and then two major hits one after the other. On one side, Laga Chunari Mein Daag got poor reviews and had a poor show at the box office (earning a meager Rs. 20.23 crores considering its high budget and marketing costs), Bhool Bhulaiya and Jab We Met, on the other hand, were one of the major success stories of the year. Bhool Bhulaiya continued a long run after a good opening at the B.O. with Jab We Met is still drawing riches being a slow and steady starter.

There were many films which did poorly at the box office, namely; Ram Gopal Verma’s Go, Koel Puri starrer It’s Breaking News, Jimmy Shergil starrer Chhodon Na Yaar, 50 Lakhs, Speed, Bal Ganesh, Anurag Kashyap’s No Smoking and Mumbai Salsa.

The film of the year will be again jointly shared by Bhool Bhulaiya (earning Rs.53.70 crores) and Jab We Met (earning Rs. 29.95 crores), being superhits of the year.
