Yash Raj Banner couldn’t stop shaking their heads after the release of this film. The film was a no-show at major places except the opening week’s good collections. The film was declared a flop within days of its release and managed to earn a meager Rs. 26.42 Crores, considering the big budget film it was.

Synopsis: Rikki Thukral (Abhishek Bachchan) and Alvira Khan (Priety Zinta) meet by chance at a railway station in London. They get chatting with each other. To impress Alvira that he is isn’t of loose character, Rikki cooks up a story about having a fiancee, Anaida (Lara Dutta). Alvira also lies that she is engaged to a rich lawyer, Steve (Bobby Deol). Rikki and Alvira reach their respective homes. They then realise that they have fallen in love with one another. However, each of them is convinced that theres’ no chance of coming together because of the other’s impending marriage. Still, the two meet at a dance competition in Southall. Rikki takes along Laila with him so that Alvira would take her to be his fiancee. Likewise, Alvira comes to the dance competition with Satinder whom she has asked to pose as he fiance, Steve. As Rikki tries hard to impress Alvira, the latter also tries every trick in the book to woo Rikki.

The film by all means proved to be all glitter and no gold. The film lacked a nice solid script and had a very weak storyline. The audience, in the end, was left anticipating something appreciable in the entire film. The film’s music composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy did get a good response. The film failed to leave a mark at the box office and faired below expectations.
