With the beginning of the film till the very end, its all been green and blue; dark and mist. Quite unlike other Bhansali films and more like the ambience the film was all but mysteriously written and presented. A visual treat that lacks soul and a happy ending!
With the stature of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, all you were expecting was a cinematic genius unfolding another saga to stay with you in times to come. But unlike his films like Hum Dil De.., Devdas and Black, this film falls miserably in content and logic. Yes, a brilliant shot and creative end-product but something that lacks a powerful script and drama.
The story has Raj (Ranbir Kapoor) as a musician who lands in a beautiful town and meets a lonely girl, Sakina(Sonam Kapoor) with whom he is completely smitten by within hours. The mysterious meeting and then the revelation of Sakina’s past doesn’t hold the audiences as they are frequently disturbed by, at times, unwanted song and dance.
The film also loses a complete bonus in the form of Salman who makes a brief appearance in the film and is yet convincing. Same goes for Rani, who was given a role, suiting yet badly handled.
