Different beat, different tune in every song! This Yash Raj soundtrack stands out among the crowd of music releases around it. Music composer Shantanu Moitra is a hands-down winner and proves once again why his style supports the film’s theme in-and-out like Parineeta, Eklavya and Lage Raho… to name a few.

# Hum To Aise Hain
Rating: 3/5
The opening track is a fun-filled song which supposedly introduces the characters in the storyline. The song has a very Indian, small town feel to it and has elements of folk too. It is based in the town of Benaras and hence is away from any western influence. The track brings together two subtle voices of Shreya Ghosal and Sunidhi Chaunhan in this impressive number. Overall, a sweet and mischievous number which sounds to be complimentary to the visual offering in the film.

# Zara Gungunalein Chalo

Another bull’s eye from Shantanu Moitra for composing a nice romantic number. The track opens with a European style opera and then quickly shifts to a melodious number sung by Babul Supriyo and Mahalaxmi. It has the old cinema feel to it and has a nice blend of Mexican and Indian instruments.

This track is the winner for me offering a beautiful recreation of Legendary composer Roshan’s ‘63 classic. There is mystic brilliance in the vocal rendition of Shubha Mudgal supported by Mita Vashisht who speaks the added lyrics penned down by Swanand Kirkire. Hats off to Shantanu Moitra for fusing the classical and digital sounds so effortlessly.

# Ik Teekhi Teekhi Ladki
Rating: 3/5
A soft and sweet number with typical Bollywood masala lyrics in it. The song is hummable and has been sung beautifully by the ever-so soothing KK and Shreya Ghoshal.

# Ehi Thaiyaa Motiya
Rating: 2.5/5
The song is a situational number and has a semi classical base to it. A mujra can’t get a better vocal rendition than by Rekha Bhardwaj who has a good grip at this genre.

Finally a real foot-tapper and the only dance number which has a nice blend of Indian instruments and has a digital western feel to it. A witty and mischievous number which is sure to get you groovy. Another of my favourites in the album.

Overall, a class soundtrack with something for everyone. From classical to semi-classical to Western to digitalised mystic influence, the album is sure to rake in moolah as soon as the film hits the screens.
