Big B upset with RGV’s Aag, writes critically

Now what do we have on the Friday platter? A mockery! A newcomer playing Big B’s character from a classic, a serious hero like Devgan playing Dharamji’s witty role, a girl who is anything but close to Hema Malini’s class and dance sequences of Nisha Kothari without any appeal except her seemingly short shorts, on a whole, the film is a real piece of …whatever!
No wonder, Babban is upset with the captain of the ship that will sink without a trace.
Yes I’m writing off the film so is the Superstar himself. Reportedly, Amitabh Bachchan has been critical of the way the film was handled by Verma and is not at all impressed by the final outcome. For an actor who was part of that magnum opus, one really can’t blam him.
We admired those brooding eyes and the high voltage scenes of Babban played by Big B with panache. But, the film lost track while trying to avoid being a copy and ended up being Verma’s gravest mistake.
And for those who feel I’m being a little harsh on this yet-to-be-released film, there’s some news from the ticket window. The average bookings for the film are just about average which in contrast to the hype it gained and the controversies that surrounded it. So, may be its just another R G Verma’s ambitious project gone haywire.
