Aishwarya talks about Pink Panther 2 role

She may be just settling into her new role as the Bachchan bahu, but looks like Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan is now set for the role of a lifetime opposite Steve Martin in ‘Pink Panther 2′.

Here the lady herself talking about her latest role and the lovey dovey memories behind ‘Guru’. The gossip mills have been abuzz that Ash was all set to star opposite Steve Martin in ‘Pink Panther 2′.

She says, “It’s Pink Panther and we’ve all grown up watching it. So as a franchise, as a subject itself, it’s a family entertainer. So its fun film to be a part of and it was an easy yes, fortunately because of the time slot. In my life its the time and my schedule that becomes the biggest defining factor. It just fit in correctly in my schedule so it was a yes. I mean I’ve been an absolute Steve Martin fan, he’s so super entertaining.”

In the meantime, Ash is settling into her new role and possibly her favorite as Mrs Bachchan spent Independence Day taking a trip down memory lane. Ash and Abhi attended the ‘Guru’ screening at the India Splendor film festival in honor of India’s 60th Independence Day in Los Angeles, California and it looks like the film brings back a lot of lovey dovey memories.

“Abhi and me have been co-stars for over four film before and closest of friends, so it was definite yes. We came together that time and today, if we look back, there are lots of special memories attached. Also, after the premiere he proposed to me. So, we have all reasons to celebrate this movie.”

Ask Abhishek about it and he says, “It was a wonderful role and to get this kind of role so early in my career, I thought it was a blessing. Besides, to do it with such a wonderful director like Mani, it is fantastic and there won’t be any reason for any actor to complain, You also get to work with the most beautiful woman, so no complains.”

Well, it certainly looks like the honeymoon phase is still going strong for these two lovebirds. Ash’s burgeoning international career won’t keep this mushy couple too far apart.
