Sony BMG acquires Saawariya music rights



The music rights of Sony Pictures Releasing of India and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s forthcoming film Saawariya have been acquired by audio company Sony BMG.

The music of the film has been composed by debutant music director Monty Sharma, who worked previously with Bhansali for the background music of Black

Speaking to Businessofcinema.com, Sony BMG general manager marketing Shanujeet Bhujpal says, “Currently we are planning marketing and promotion activities for Saawariya music. The music should be out in the market in the first half of September.”

Saawariya stars debutants Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor along with Salman Khan and Rani Mukerji in special appearances. The movie, which marks Sony Pictures Releasing of India’s foray into the Indian movie production space, is slated for a release on 9 November, 2007.
