Lara Dutta, Soha Ali Khan in PNC’s Devdas

Lara Dutta and Soha Ali Khan have been roped in to essay the characters of Paro and Chandramukhi in Sudhir Mishra’s Devdas. The movie is being produced by Pritish Nandy Communications.

As is already known, Shiney Ahuja will be essaying the role of Devdas, which has earlier been portrayed by Dilip Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan in Bimal Roy and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas respectively.

When contacted Mishra says, “I can’t comment on this till the actors sign on the dotted line.” According to information available with Businessofcinema.com, Kangana Ranaut was also being considered for one of the roles but things didn’t fall into place.

Unlike the previous movies made on Devdas by Roy and Bhansali, Mishra’s film will have a political setting wherein the protagonist, Shiney Ahuja comes from a political family. Hence, it will be a new take on the story of Devdas.

Soha and Shiney also star in Sudhir Mishra’s Khoya Khoya Chand, which is being co-produced by Prakash Jha and Adlabs Films.
