Shilpa to become Dr. Shilpa Shetty

Shilpa Shetty has been really flying high in the cloud nine for quite some time now after winning the celebrity big brother contest in UK. She will now be Dr. Shilpa Shetty as the Leeds Metropolitan University in UK will confer on the actress an honorary doctorate at a student graduation ceremony on Wednesday, July 18.

Earlier, in honour of the International Film Academy’s visit to Yorkshire last month, Leeds Metropolitan University conferred honorary degrees on Amitabh Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Yash Chopra and Praful Patel.

On this her publicist utters, “The honorary doctorate is in recognition of Shilpa’s outstanding contribution to cultural diversity and good relations between the peoples of the United Kingdom and India. It’s a proud moment for all of us”.
