Debutant director Raj Pendurkar’s comic caper, ‘Bombay to Goa’ is finally out in the theaters to entertain the cinegoers’ souls. The best lot of the comedians available has been roped in to bedeck the outing. The finalists from the comedy TV show, ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ and the classy talents of funny acting from Bollywood front have been assembled to make the audience laugh. Yes, they can tickle the viewers’ funny bones aptly since they have the natural flair of comedy. Admit, they did…but one thing goes wrong with the film that wastes their remarkable effort is the unnecessarily lengthy screenplay, which could have been short. Apart from this lackluster drawback, nonetheless a moviegoer carry home something and that is the comedians’ hilarious acting laced with the witty dialogues.

‘Bombay to Goa’ has been targeted to the hoi polloi audience. It has nothing to do with the mind work. Just put your mind aside and enjoy the joy-ride. A few sequences are very well executed. The special mention is due to the climax portion of chase. That sends chortles on your lips.

The flick talks about two people mainly – Lal (Sunil Pal) and Das (Vijay Raaz). Lal happens to be a dreamer who always dreams of becoming a biggie in life doing his own business. On the other hand, Das is a driver who quits his job since he cannot bear the irritating habits of his boss. Lal wins a contest where he is awarded Rs. 2 lacs. Both friends plan to start a business. They think of running a travel agency but the little amount restricts them to do that. Finally they end up with the idea of owning a bus. To let it happen they go to chor bazaar where they get the spare parts of old and imported cars. And then they succeed in creating a bus. But now they need to get the passengers to board on it for a ride to Goa. This problem soon gets solved as Lal manages to get 15-16 passengers by offering them a special discount. But the passengers find the bus so tawdry that they demand their money back but after a long persuasion the journey finally begins. Amongst the passengers, one passenger (Marc Mohan) meets with an accident and dies but before he dies he tells his fellows about the hidden treasure…here the real hilarious saga starts…

Script is good and holds your attention but again big length of the movie destroys the impression. When the comedy is stretched unnecessarily, the outcome looks absurd and even good efforts appear weak. Witty one-liners and dialogues are commendable.

Music is just passable. There is nothing to write home about it. Cinematography is moderate. Amongst the actors, Sunil Pal, Raju Shrivastava, Vijay Raaz, Asif Shaikh and Sudhir Pandey excel in their jobs. Asrani and Shakti Kapoor do not impress. Rest of the cast is okay.

On the whole, ‘Bombay to Goa’ will fetch the audiences who like comedy flicks putting their minds aside to the cinema halls. But the mammoth business at the box office cannot be predicted.
