Indian Idol 3: Selected 123 aspirants to perform

After bringing to the viewers the entertaining auditions of the third season of Indian Idol held in various regions in India and overseas and accomplishing the mammoth task of selecting 123 contestants from 25,000 from India and abroad, its now time for the next level on Indian Idol 3 ­ the Theatre Round. These 123 contestants arrive by train, bus, and flight from all over and many of them are overwhelmed, as it is their first time in Mumbai!

From their well-protected and cocooned hometown to the big, beautiful city of dreams—these youngsters arrive with dreams in their eyes and songs on their lips. As they step down from the train, bus and flight they are like strange bedfellows—they hardly know each other but they have to live together. They are met and taken to Savoy Hotel, in the suburbs, where starts their individual journeys as they are getting ready to live that one dream of winning the coveted title and becoming ‘Bharat Ki Shaan’.

As a special surprise, Indian Idol has organized a cruise party off the Gateway of India, where the contestants were treated to Mumbai style pani puri and they had a blast dancing in the middle of the sea. The 123 participants got a flavor of the city and they simply loved the experience. This is the city of dreams…will this city help them win the ‘dream’ title?

After fun & games it was time to get down to serious business. The contestants entered the auditorium and were awestruck. They couldn¹t believe that they were going to perform in an auditorium as grand as NCPA. Meanwhile, the judges are ready and the curtain goes up, the judges take the stage and officially flag off the Theatre Round.

The Theatre Round episode’s first participant is 16-year-old Richa from Amritsar, the youngest participant among the 123. With her enthusiasm and dedication to compete with others she is here to give her best. Watch the 123 participants practice, pray and put their best forward in the Theatre Round starting Saturday May 19, 2007 at 9.00 p.m, exclusively on Sony Entertainment Television.
