Is Hollywood Affecting Bollywood Industry…?
Hollywood and Bollywood are the two giant entertainment industries of the world. Both register a magical impact on the cine aficionados spread across the world. People love to watch the flicks churned out by both of these industries. Many years back probably decades ago, only the Hollywood actors were considered to be the internationally reputed stars and the moviegoers simply adored them. At that time, Hindi cinema industry had not gone global. The films were released only in the country. People around the world particularly in the subcontinent and gulf used to watch on video tapes. And these were also those people who were Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis or the likes. After Bollywood threw out the orthodox ilk of subjects and took initiatives to take steps with the fast growing world and chewed up movies based on the modern themes of modern cinema and made films on the standards of Hollywood , the industry went global. And then it fetched the world audience. Today the Bollywood films are watched almost in each and every corner of the world on the big screens. And it happened due to the use of sophisticated technology, modern themes and the educated people (who have mastery command over the art) associated with the entertainment abode. Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, and Aishwariya Rai are respected and have the huge fan following in the world like the Hollywood biggies. Now Bollywood utterly stands alongside Hollywood . The need to make joint ventures was necessary since the audience is the same for both the industries. People, who know no word of Hindi, also watch Bollywood films. Bollywood stars do more live concerts than their Hollywood counterparts. This shows that Bollywood is widely acknowledged across the globe. Recent development on their fame internationnaly is the wax statue of Shah Rukh Khan at Madame Tussad’s museum.

Hollywood films have been doing brilliant in India and often when a Hollywood film releases in the country, the Bollywood flicks find tough times at the box office. Recently Spider Man 3 made a bombastic opening in India. The flick got the people to stand in long queues at the box office.

The Hollywood films have undoubtedly been becoming hugely popular amongst the massives in India over the years and giving really tough times to the Hindi filmdom. But why this is being happened..? Why the Indian audiences are dragging towards the multiplexes showing Hollywood films? The answer is that it is being happened because the Hollywood movies are being dubbed in local languages like Hindi, Tamil, Bhojpuri and others. So the people find it easy to watch and understand the film. And since a Hollywood film is different than a Bollywood film, a moviegoer find it interesting to stay with at the cinema hall. But nonethless, Bollywood is no doubt on high heels of success in India and abroad claiming to be the world’s largest film industry. Keeping in mind the production of almost 1000 films a year and the sophisticated technology being used, yes…it is the largest film industry in the world leaving Hollywood behind. Today Bollywood has presence in everywhere in the world having a big fan following across the globe. People love to watch Hindi films and like to listen Hindi songs. Bollywood has a magical effect on the moviegoers’ minds. The stars are adored.

To say this that Hindi films are not making good business in foreign circuits is not true. They are making handsome returns. Bollywood has market in almost 200 countries across the globe. Hindi films release with good amount of prints in foreign markets. Admit, the flicks with ordinary subjects do not go well in foreign lands but the same happens in India also. Today’s viewer is intelligent and will not watch the film if it carries a mundane theme.
Aishwariya Rai has really done well to become a true crossover star due to her status of Miss World and World’s most beautiful woman. And ofcosurse due to her huge popularity internationally. And the stars like Om Puri, Amrish Puri, Gulshan Grover, Kabir Bedi, Shabana Aazmi and Naseeruddin Shah have done great in Hollywood as well. Their efforts are really acknowledged over there. King Khan (Shah Rukh Khan) and the legendary Amitabh Bachchan are the stars who have big fan following in the world.

The connection between the two giant industries is lucrative and will go higher and higher. Both have their own importance and it is a fact that neither of them can compete each other.
