Indian Idol: Happenings of May 11th’s Episode

India’s biggest show, Indian Idol 3 has now started from May 4th. This is the program, when begins, the streets gets empty. People simply love to stay and want to enjoy every bit of it.

The May 11th episode, the Friday episode will be featuring the auditions of Mumbai and Dubai. Wanna have the pleasures of these happenings, read below to quench your thirst:

MUMBAI

· Joginder Dhabhade. A truck cleaner, who lives in a chawl, has always dreamt of becoming a singer. He simply loves singing and when he got the opportunity to take part in Indian Idol he was on top of the world. Here is the chance to realise his dreams. Though the judges patted him for thinking big and chasing his dreams, he got rejected. His world collapsed before his eyes and he was in tears.

· Mahibum, from Manipur, travelled all the way to take part in Indian Idol. Mahibum loves Hindi songs, music but in Manipur they are not allowed to sing Hindi songs, watch Hindi films or speak in Hindi. But all this has not marred his ambition to sing so he made the long journey to Mumbai. Indian Idol was his platform. He sang well and got selected.

· There was this young girl from Pune who had a sore throat. But this youngster just did the right thing. She chose a song that would camouflage her sore throat and the song she chose was to be sung in husky note. She took the high notes well…but the low…her bad throat gave up. The judges realised her dilemma…Annu said, “Awaaz main kanak hai “.Both Javed Saab & Alisha too agreed with him and said “we know you have a good voice so we are taking the risk and selecting you.”

· Another youngster from Pune also with bad throat was seen rehersing, then crying out of sheer nervousness and finally she called her mum and asked her to pray for her.

· Cricket and singing are the order of the day. A youngster came completely dressed in a cricket gear all ready to sing. Even the touch of cricket, country’s favourite game helped him–he sang badly and was rejected. “You have been clean bowled”, said Judge Annu Malek, while veteran Javed Saab said. “Your destiny lies in Indian Cricket, go for it.”

· Nirmalai, who claimed he was an accomplished singer came and shared all his certificates, medals to confirm his claim. However, he did not come up to the expectations of the judges and was rejected. Nirmalai was shocked. He argued with the judges and would not listen to what they have to say. He was told by the judges. “You have to respect the 4 judges and their verdict. “His tu tu main main continued and finally he had to be escorted out of the room!

· There was this youngster who said he wanted to introduce western classical to Indians. He played a Mexican piece on his guitar…however the guitar literally drowned his voice, so he was asked by the judges to sing without his guitar. The youngster sang so beautifully that he got all the judges to applaud for him. Annu said he “is the find of the third season of Indian Idol”. The judges are really looking forward to some great singing from this youngster.

DUBAI

• A young participant Jenia, a model by profession, was very keen to participate in Indian Idol… as she walked in for the auditions, in front of the judges, she presented them with her portfolio. She then sings her own English composition but unfortunately the judges had to reject her as she could sing only in English.

• Pooja was the first contestant over whom the judges - Udit Narayan and Javed Akhtar were divided. She forgot her song mid way and was very nervous… Javed Akhtar really liked her personality and singing capability but Udit Narayan was not impressed. Javed insisted that she must come to Mumbai and do lots of riyaaz.

• Prashant, another enthusiastic contestant went all out to put his best foot or rather voice forward! What made him different was his capability of singing Hindi songs in English! The judges were amused with his singing and enjoyed every moment of it. Prashant was selected and was told to come to Mumbai.

• Rashmi, another aspirant had a very good voice and did some good singing. The judges were very impressed with her and called her the Best Talent from Dubai.
