Akshay and Tabu doing well for overseas

Namastey London came as a face-saver for Bollywood last weekend as it opened with good collections both in UK and Australia. The film got good opening and was touted as one of the best releases for Akshay Kumar since Phir Hera Pheri last year. Other film doing well in the overseas circuit is Mira Nair’s highly acclaimed film ‘Namesake’. The film is notching up the US charts with improving collections each week.

UK Box Office

• Namastey London: The film got a commendable opening at Position No. 11 at the UK box office. The Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif and Upen Patel starrer is touted to be a good grosser in UK. It has already collected £ 238,841 in its first weekend. The film is currently showing at 42 screens.

• Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.: Farhan Akhtar’s last release is slowly showing dip in collections in its fifth weekend. The film being an above average grosser managed to collect £ 1,730 on 9 screens.

• Just Married: Marriage was only the beginning: The film has gone from bad to worse at the UK box office after dipping to Position No. 62 from last week’s 32 position. In its second weekend, the film has collected £ 1,188 on 7 screens.

• Hattrick: Another poor show at the overseas box office as Ronnie Screwvala’s Kunal Kapoor and Rimi Sen was declared a loser at the UK box office. The film managed to collect £ 898 in its second weekend. The film is currently showing at only 7 screens across UK at position No. 66 dipping from last week’s 27th Poistion.

• Eklavya: The film proved to be disappointment at the UK box office despite a strong star-cast delivering a good performance. It managed to collect £ 877 on 2 screens in its sixth weekend.

• Nehle Pe Dehla: The film like the last week’s collections has failed in making a mark at the box office. The Saif and Sanjay Dutt starrer earned a meager £ 516 on 11 screens. The film slipped to Position No. 73 from last week’s 33rd Position.

• Nishabd: Ram Gopal Verma’s controversial film starring Big B and the fresh face of Bollywood, Jiah Khan has fallen flat at the UK box office as well. The collected £ 516 on 11 screens. The film is at Position No. 80 this weekend.

US Box Office

• The Namesake: The only way this Mira Nair film is going to move on the US box office charts is upwards. The film has been critically acclaimed and appreciated by the USA audience and has gone up from last week’s 17th position to this week’s Position No. 15. In its third weekend, the film has collected $ 1,306,819. The film is currently showing at 117 screens.

Australia Box Office

• Namastey London: The film has a got a good opening at the Australian box office and has collected $ 74,322 in its first weekend. The Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer is currently showing on 13 screens.

Middle-east Box Office

• Namastey London: The film has managed to get a fair opening in the middle east too. The Akshay Kumar magic and the interesting east-west divide theme has been pulling in the audiences. The distributors across the middle east claim good collections for the Vipul Shah film.
