Amitabh Bachchan and Koena Mitra on Titan Antakshri

The mega star and the biggest legendary actor of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan, participated in the special episode of Titan Antakshri for the visually challenged participants. Amitabh Bachchan enthralled the children and audiences with recital of a poem “Main Prakash Hoon, ajar amar andhakar ek nirav gunjan” by Khalid Hashmi. Amitabh in his legendary baritone held the audiences spell bound as he recited the poem. The underlying theme of the poem was that blindness in not a drawback.

Later two visually challenged girls, Mansi and Mamta, from Smt. Kamla Mehta Dadar School for the Blind, came forward to present a letter written by them for “Amitabh Uncle”. The letter had a very special message for Mr. Bachchan and his ailing mother. They wished a speedy recovery for Mrs. Teji Bachchan who has been ailing for a while. Mr. Bachchan was extremely moved by the feelings of these children and the legend held the children in his warm embrace.

While leaving, Mr. Bachchan extended his best wishes and cheered the participants of Muncherjee Nowrowjee Banajee Industrial Home for the Blind and became a moral support for them.

Koena Mitra was a moral support for those participants through out the game. Koena gets very much excited after meeting the participants and seeing their excitement too. She said- I am sure ki Main yahaan se sabse kuch seekh ke hi jaaoongi.

The show will be telecasted on Friday, March 30 and Saturday, March 31st 2007 at 8:30 p.m.
