Bollywood Turns to Comedy… Is the Formula Successful..?

Hindi cinema is turning towards comedies these days. And churning out a comic package is emerging as a tested formula to make the film successful. But does every comedy succeed at the box office? Of course not…! You have witnessed abundant of examples for many comedies’ box office failures to date. Priyadarshan and David Dhawan are the filmmakers considered to be the kings of comedies on Bollywood scene today. But as a saying goes: ‘A man is not perfect’. They too sometimes face failures for their projects, they are much confident about. Thus after putting your very best in a film, you are not sure of a success since after your hard work there comes another big thing, which has a big role of making anything successful or a failure and that is destiny.

Since ‘Comedy’ is the flavour of the season and the comic capers are chewing mammoth business for the makers, every filmmaker would like to construct the movies on this genus. But in order to be in the race of masticating money with the ongoing success formula of making hilarious offerings, many of the filmmakers forget or even do not try to put the eyes on the fact that today’s viewer is not dim-witted or stupid rather he has knowledge and a mind to understand the things. Thus while following the trends, their wish of making wealth grows fainter and their ventures collapse at the box office.

To make a copy of some original theme is very easy but somewhere you leave something and that endows you with the failures. But to make a copy with intelligence is what gives you success.

Sending laugh on audiences’ lips is not an easy task to do. And to do it, an apt knowledge of the art and the dexterity are required. Unfortunately, all storytellers don’t have a full grip to make it happen. Some can and some can’t..! But attempts are nonetheless made on Hindi cinema’s front. Some succeed and some fail. But the continuation is still going on…
