Sushmita sued for remarks on chastity in S. India
For the former Miss Universe and Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen, its important that she is careful while she talks as her international name and acclaim can get her into trouble in the least expected of situations. Back in Novewmber last year, the actress made some bold comments on chastity in an interview in South India and now she is paying the price for being casual with the concept altogether. She has been sued by an advocate for her remarks on chastity and a case has been filed against her.
Sushmita Sen has been sued by a Madurai-based advocate who found her remarks offensive and that they could have wrong implications on the young minds as she is a national icon. Back in November, Sushmita was caught saying in an interview in South India that “chastity has no meaning in the current period, and it applies to both men and women.” This interview telecasted on November 6 and then published in a Tamil daily on November
7th caught the attention of advocate S Greesh Kumar.
The case has been filed under the Indian Penal Code and indecent representation of Women Act. The next hearing will be held on Friday, 23rd of February.
