One of the mega releases of the year didn’t continue its showings for long at the theatres. Salman-starrer proved to be a major disappointment, though it earned good returns for Sajid Nadiadwala. The main reason it features on the top 20 list is its net gross of Rs.26.56 Crores which can be solely credited to the hype created around the film. The pre-release publicity was amazing with main focus on the film’s picturisation and main song “Humko Maloom Hai”. The film was taken off the theatres within 5 weeks of its release, not before it had earned back good revenue.

Synopsis: Suhaan (Salman Khan) is a wannabe rock star and a suave and polished wordsmith. Agastya (Akshay Kumar) is the loveable underdog, the tongue-tied nerd who unlike Suhaan can’t seem to get a sentence out. Suhaan and Agastya are polar opposites with only one thing in common… their love for Piya (Preity Zinta). The three are college friends, Suhaan marries Piya but due to misunderstandings they get separated. Ten years pass, Suhaan is now a famous singer, Agastya an astronaut, and Piya a modern woman creating a path all her own. The three are going about their lives but fate brings them together and unites Suhaan and Piya again.

The film has a very novel and different story to tell. The editor-turned-director Shirish Kunder keeps the audience hooked on to the film throughout. The film strikes as a new experiment with a different narrative style from the first-time director. The only thing that went against the film was its length and slow-pace.
