Anwar’s release postponed to January 12

Many of the films slated for the late December release are now releasing in the new year. Earlier, chick flick Kudiyon Ka Hai Zamana which postponed its release from December 29th to January 5th, now its Anwar’s turn to postpone its release.

The debut film of actress Manisha Koirala’s brother Siddhartha Koirala has been postponed. The release has been delayed and it will hit the theatres on January 12th next year. The reason is simple: The hype created around the film needs an adequate release in the right number and kind of theatres chosen.

Anwar’s director Manish Jha explains, “We weren’t getting the right outlets [multiplexes/theatres] for our film. The best of theatres/multiplexes are blocked already. We were forced to push the film ahead. We spoke to our distributors and explained the predicament. They agreed, so it’s 12th January now.”
