Shahid Kapoor in an awe of daddy dearest
You must have heard ‘a proud papa’ but now meet ‘a proud son’. For Shahid Kapoor, his father versatile actor Pankaj Kapoor is like his Godfather who’s an idol for him. Shahid considers him a great actor and at several higher levels than him.
Shahid, who recently saw Vishal Bhardwaj’s The Blue Umbrella, was in an awe of his father’s performance in the movie. And I felt like flushing my head down the nearest toilet. He’s unbelievably good! I had felt the same way when I saw him in Vishal’s Maqbool. My dad’s performances make me feel so inadequate. Nothing I can do will equal his power on screen. That’s why I’m frantic about my forthcoming projects.”
Meanwhile, Shahid earned himself a nomination for the best actor’s category in a prestigious award and his reaction to the news? “I’m surprised. This year has been so full of outstanding performances. I didn’t think I stood a chance. And to think most people including myself, thought I wouldn’t be able to pull off a film like that!” But, it was a job well done, for sure!

Shahid, you were awesome, I have seen the movie like a million times just to watch your performance. For me only you exist in the whole movie, I barely notice Kareena. Now, maybe after watching it for the nth time I am beginning to notice her and she is quite good too.
