Rahman’s composition is anti-poverty anthem
For India, he’s the man who has put Indian music on the international map with the global flavour to his compositions. For the first time, an Indian musician’s composition was selected for a world-wide UN campaign. A.R. Rahman’s English composition ‘Pray for me brother’ is the anthem for UN’s anti-poverty awareness campaign.
For the first time, A.R. Rahman has composed an English song which has been adopted as the anthem for creating awareness about poverty across the world. The song will be the first to be shot on mobile cinemascope format.
The song is the part of the joint venture of the ace composer’s Foundation and Nokia.
Rahman will be performing the anti-poverty anthem on Dec 31st at Nokia’s New Year Eve’s celebration concert in Mumbai. Others performing at the show include Canadian singing sensation Nelly Furtado, Bollywood actresses Priyanka Chopra, Neha Dhupia and many more.
