Don to be screened at the Berlin film festival
Despite, the critics writing off the remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘78 blockbuster, Don, the film starring Shah Rukh Khan in the titular role, will be screened at the prestigious Berlin film festival next year.
The German distributors were hopeful of getting the film screened at the big fest and reserved its release for the big show. Farhan Akhtar’s Don will be part of the International forum section at the festival.
Don’s producer Ritesh Sidhwani said, “It’s been chosen out of around 400 films that were nominated. It is a prestigious event and I am glad that our German distributor had enough faith in the film to hold back the release. The news is yet to sink in.”
The movie stars SRK, Priyanka Chopra, Isha Koppikar and Boman Irani. The film was an average grosser in the domestic market. Meanwhile, it is doing great business in the overseas market and is one of the top movies at the theatres in countries like Brazil.
Don will be screened at the Berlin Festival in Feb. next year.
