Kaabul Express gets average response

Kabir Khan’s much-hyped and awaited release Kaabul Express opened to an average response from the audiences. The documentary-turned-feature film got mixed responses and audience strengths at the theatres on its first day of release.

Documentary maker Kabir Khan’s directorial debut which is straight from his Kaabul diary of the past, didn’t get the “express” start as it was expected to because of its intriguing character and comic work of Arshad Warsi and the hunky John Abraham. The Yash Raj Film is doing above average business at the multiplexes. But, it has found no takers at the single-screen theatres at most of the places. The movie generally targets the thinking audience than a common man. The movie is getting above average response at 60-70% in the multiplexes.

The movie is failing to connect with the masses because of its nature of subject and the sensitivity of the Taliban issue, though it is a well-crafted thriller by Kabir Khan. Hence, its lukewarm show on its day 1 at the single-screen theatres across the nation.
