IFFI: Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy honour R.D. Burman
Legendary composer R.D. Burman was remembered by the gathering at the International Film Festival of India with composer trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy paying tribute to the master in a musical concert in Goa. Many of the famous and hit compositions of Pancham Da (as he was fondly called) were played by the trio. Shankar Mahadevan also lend his vocals to many of the numbers.
Other singers like Alka Yagnik, Shaan and Kailash Kher also crooned some of the R.D.’s hit numbers. Sudesh Bhonsle lend voice to the compositions sung by R.D. Burman himself.
The entire concert brought nostalgia to the sun and sand of Goa with some soulful and peppy numbers of the great musician. The day also conincided with the 100th birth anniversary of Pancham Da’s late father S.D. Burman, another great musician. The concert titled “Salaam Boss” was by far the biggest highlight of IFFI this year . So, salute to the immortal genius of great Pancham Da.
