Amitabh gets a breather in tobacco case

Smoking can certainly be injurious to one’s health, but if you are the superstar of Bollywood then even smoking can’t harm you. This was evident in the tobacco-related case against Amitabh Bachchan in which the district and sessions court stayed the orders of the judicial magistrate. Amitabh Bachchan along with four others was asked to appear in the court regarding the case.

The National Organisation for Tobacco Eradication (NOTE) had earlier summoned Big B for the violation of Tobacco laws of the state of Goa, by appearing in a hoarding displaying a still from Amitabh’s movie Family. The hoarding showed him with a cigar while endorsing an electrical appliance of M/s Anchor Daewoo India Limited under the brand Anchor.

In an attempt to delay the case, Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited (ABCL) filed a revision petition against the order issued by the judicial magistrate. Now, the case will be revised during the stay order period and then hearing will take place.
