Dhoom 2 gets hit hard by pirates

How come when a film about cops and robbers, good versus evil, itself becomes a crime caper?

What can be regarded by many as the pirate coup of the year, copies of Dhoom 2 DVDs are easily available on the streets of Bollywood’s capital city Mumbai.

The film’s production company, high fliers Yash Raj Films, are known for their serious take on pirates; but what has happened with their top-most release of 2006?

The film has yet to open in cinemas, and special screenings are rarity, so where did these pirate copies come from? Who got the film released? Was it a Yash Raj insider, or was it a rival production company?

At this point of time, no one knows.

But now that the DVD is out in the market, it will surely make it’s way onto the Internet, probably on the same day of the film’s general release.

Do tell us if you have come across someone selling pirated copies of Dhoom 2, either in Mumbai, or anywhere else in the world.

Do you think the much earlier release of the pirate will effect it’s final Box Office outcome, or is the film destined to become one of the biggest hits of 2006?
