Amitabh Bachchan caught smoking
Amitabh Bachchan has found himself in an advertising soup after an NGO, National Organisation for Tobacco Eradication (NOTE), filed a case against him. The superstar was allegedly seen smoking a cigar in an advertisement of Anchor Daewoo India, which angered the NGO working against tobacco consumption in India. The advertisement showed the still frame of Amitabh smoking a cigar in the movie Family.
A Panaji court has summoned Big B on November 29 for the violation of anti-tobacco laws in the advertisement. Alongwith Bachchan, actor, producer Keshu Ramsay, his company DMS Films Private Limited, Anchor Daewoo India and AB Corp Ltd were named respondents in the case.
The movie hoardings advertising for Anchor Daewoo was put on the National Highway 17 from Margao to Mapusa in Goa, between December 25, 2005 and January1, 2006.
