Gauri and Hiten sweating it out hard!

Finally after sailing through 5 episodes, Hiten managed to break ice with the judges!. His song – Pyar Bina Chain Kahan re actually reminded Saroj Khan of Mithun Da. Now coming from the veteran dancer herself, it was a huge compliment! Hiten credits it to his choreographer – Arvind’s lucky locket which he started wearing for each of his performances now!

36,000 votes and still counting!

Shikha Bhatia, a 23-year old Delhiite, plays a big role in Hiten Tejwani and Gauri Pradhan’s position at the top in Nach Baliye 2. Shikha, an ardent fan of both, has given them 36,000 votes till now.

Hiten and Gauri’s low scores in the first round rattled Shikha to no end. She had registered 4,000 votes for them in the first week, but subsequently went all out to hit the 8,000 mark every week thereafter.

Every Monday, when one couple is eliminated, Shikha’s heart is in her mouth. “I want Hiten and Gauri to go all the way. I’m leaving no stone unturned to see my dream come true.”

How is she registering so many votes? Shikha, an only child, explains her modus operandi, “I’ve got in touch with many cyber cafes. I have told them to make their staff vote through their computers. I pay the cyber cafes accordingly. They are getting money, and my favourite jodi is getting their votes.” The Panju girl adds that her parents aren’t fretting over the expenses she’s incurring. “Mum and dad don’t mind what I do in my spare time as long as I study well and do nothing wrong. I’ve completed two semesters in Chartered Accounting.”

Fan is blind to reason, so Shikha complains that the judges have been a bit harsh on Hiten and Gauri. “I think they’re giving them lesser marks because they know they have a huge fan following.” How does she find them as dancers? Pat comes the reply, “Pretty decent, they’re improving by leaps and bounds.”

Shikha traces back, “When I first saw Kuttumb, I was stunned. I think nobody’s more gorgeous than Gauri. Later, I started liking Hiten also. In fact, he’s still my dream man. But I’m not jealous of Gauri. Today, I call Hiten my big brother. I have a lot of respect for him; I’ve spoken to actors on the phone and I think he’s the best behaved.”

Hiten on Shikha

“Shikha talks to us very often. We are looking forward to meeting her. Actually, she was supposed to come to Mumbai a few months back, but I think some exams came in the way. Anyway, we are extremely thankful to her. She is definitely playing a big role in our prospects in Nach Baliye 2. It must be sweat, toil and labour in every respect.”

Saroj attempts to touch choreographer’s feet!

Never before has it happened in the history of Nach Baliye that the veteran choreographer, Saroj Khan herself has asked a choreographer to teach her a few steps. After a stupendous performance by Bakhtyaar and Tanaaz, the ceetis (whistles) and money would not do justice to the feeling of appreciation Saroj Khan felt for the choreographer. She called Mini, their choreographer down on stage and attempted to touch her feet. Post which Mini could not contain herself and burst into tears before going just clutching on to saroj’s feet. Both did a little jig on the floor with Saroj following Mini’s steps. This was the biggest appreciation one could ever get! And Mini …what more can we say…that was the biggest moment of her life!

Malaika’s attire gets noticed!

We all know that Seema Khan’s muse, Malaika flaunts her clothes with élan on Nach Baliye 2 as she sits on the judge’s panel. But what we don’t know is that the lady in question has carried off her clothes so splendidly, that people have actually come forward and made purchases for the same clothes that she wore on the show. Neelam Roy, Ronit Roy’s wife would be a similar case. On seeing Malaika’s sexy pink and green sari on the show, she immediately called the channel and got through Seema Khan and ordered the sari promptly.

Malaika B’day

The gorgeous judge Malaika celebrated her birthday on Oct 23. She was in for a surprise on the day of the shoot of episode 5 (Disco round). When all the contestants gathered on stage, Hiten took the mike & announced that he had to say something important that was troubling him about the judges. Gauri Pradhan & Yash Tonkk tried to stop him but he was perseverant. Finally the judges said, “Ok, tell us what its about again”. To this Hiten said, “it’s mainly about you Malaika… you have been unfair, what you have done is not right… you did not tell us it’s your birthday!!!”

At this, everyone cheered, clapped and a cake was brought in… This was a huge surprise – cum – shock for our ‘diva’! She actually danced to Chaiyya Chaiyya with all the contestants for that!
