Mahabharata is finally materialising

Rituparno Ghosh’s plans of making a modern-day Mahabharata is finally materialising.

The director from Bengal has finally found a producer in Sa Re Ga Ma-HMV, the music company which has agreed to arrange for finances. Since it is a costly project, Ghosh is not taking any chances. He was in Mumbai recently and met with his producers.

Ghosh assures that his film will not be like Mani Ratnam’s version of Mahabharata. Ask him why and he says, “That’s because Mani has his own style and I have my own. As simple as that.” Point taken.
