Lage Raho Munnabhai multiplex issue resolved

Record number of 42 new prints released within one day of film release due to the overwhelming response of the audiences.

The dispute between producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra and multiplex owners over revenue sharing has been amicably resolved. Good senses have finally prevailed and both have agreed upon a mutually acceptable fair terms that Vidhu Vinod Chorpa has asked for. This is the first time in the history of Hindi cinema that a record number of 42 new prints have been released within one day of the film release. This demand is obviously due to the overwhelming reactions and response from audiences across the world. The film has received standing ovation from audiences, critics and the industry.

Commenting on this, Vinod Chopra said, “Finally the hard work and the efforts of the team has paid off and the multiplexes have accepted fair terms. Bapu always believed that when you fight with the right intentions, victory shall come your way though it might take its time. What we were asking was for a fair share wherein both the producers and multiplexes are happy. This is the conclusion that all of us have reached. The entertainment business can survive only if we make good films and they are shown in good theaters”

Chopra further added, “We have been getting amazing reactions from across the country and overseas. Worldwide, the audiences just love the new Munna Circuit episode and even find the second film better than the first. This is a great compliment. I am humbled by the response”.

The comic caper stars Sanjay Dutt once again in the lead role as the good hearted goon Munnabhai supported by Arshad Warsi as the inimitable Circuit. Lage Raho Munnabhai also stars Boman Irani and Jimmy Sheirgill who played significant roles in the first episode too.

The new chapter has the talented Vidya Balan in the female lead along with Diya Mirza in a supporting role. The surprise character in the film is that of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi played by Dilip Prabhawalker.
