Himesh inspires television talent show

According to sources in Mumbai, it’s all official now.

The Indian version of ‘Dancing With The Stars’ has been presumably inspired by a hit Himesh Reshammiya song and will be called ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja’.

It will be co-produced by Theatre Red and Synergy Communications, owned by Siddhartha Basu, who makes a transition from the General Knowledge sphere to Entertainment.

It is scheduled to launch in the first week of September. ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja’ will be a bi-weekly show with a high degree of audience participation and viewer interactivity.

This takes the number of recent reality shows on Sony to six - ‘Indian Idol’, ‘Fame Gurukul’, ‘Fear Factor India’ (forthcoming), ‘Extreme Makeover’ (forthcoming), ‘Big Brother’ (forthcoming) and now ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja’ (forthcoming).
